Ibiza: Europe's party capital

Ibiza is the party capital of the Balearics and for this reason is popular with fun lovers in search of a heady mix of cheap drinks, banging music and blazing sunshine. Mambo also serves as an excellent venue for pre-drinks before venturing to the super club of Pacha which is situated just down the road.

Ibiza town is also a great place to visit for a party. This vibrant and compact town is fantastic for those looking to get away from the sand and sea and instead enjoy the luxury of traditional inland Balearic island living. Don your shades and take a stroll around the quaint streets by day, enjoying fine Baleraic cuisine and a cheeky glass of wine and by night head out to the island's biggest club, Privilege. This sprawling club offers revellers an amazingly varied clubbing experience that is without rival on the island due to its vastness and sheer amount of floorspace that caters to every conceivable taste!

If full-on partying isn't your thing, you can always have a quieter holiday in Ibiza. Hurghada - Red Sea Paradise

It's easy to see why the dramatic landscapes of this Red sea resort are so popular with tourists looking for blazing hot sunshine, crystal clear waters and culturally rich Egyptian bazaars. This modern resort offers all manner of superb Egyptian holidays, ranging from cheap deals to the more expensive all inclusive, luxury holidays at the other end of the scale. You'll find that Hurghada is very much a place of contrasts. Skiathos of the Sporades

At just 12km long and 6km wide Skiathos is one of the smallest islands that lie within the Sporades group making it an excellent choice for those looking for a classic quiet island getaway offering plenty of options for the more discerning holiday-goer. With over 60 beaches dotted around the rugged coastline, Skiathos has plenty of solitude to offer those looking for a little peace and quiet and with its range of primarily family run hotels, you are sure to find your own little piece of paradise on your Skiathos holiday.

 The the main town on the island is the island's namesake, Skiathos, and is the liveliest of all the island's towns. Costa de Almeria - Spanish resort holidaying for the Connoisseur

For a quieter alternative to the brashy Spanish resorts of Costa Brava and the Costa del Sol, why not venture to the southernmost point of Spain and the Costa de Almeria. It is perhaps Spain's least famous Costa but is certainly one of the country's most interesting holiday spots and is a great place for those looking for pastures new for their holidays to Spain.


The most popular area for holidays in the Costa de Almeria is Mojacar. With 9km of stunningly long, sandy beach and with its traditional Moorish vibe and landscape, it's easy to see why this area is so popular with holiday-goers. The waters here are a lovely shade of azure and perfect for intrepid snorkellers! Watersports also line the beaches so you will always have plenty of fun, entertaining options to keep you and the children occupied. No visit to the Costa de Almeria is complete without a visit to one of the region's incredible Troglodyte cave villages. Lying so far south, it seems that Almeria has a completely different climate to the rest of the country, it certainly feels more arid and dryer than the mega resorts of the north and this fact is compounded when you discover that the Costa de Almeria is the home of the only desert in Spain!

With its distinct lack of sprawling tourist developments, the region is an attractive prospect for anyone looking to explore this lesser know region of Spain. Much of the area seems to be completely desolate with its barren landscapes and deserts that stretch all the way into the horizon like something out of 'Lawrence of Arabia'. For this reason the the Costa de Almeria is perfect if you are looking for what seems like your own little slice of Spain and where complete solitude is just a short drive away.


Whilst on your journey of exploration, consider a trip to the capital of the region and the ancient city of Almeria. This Moor influenced city is filled with historical titbits such as the domineering ancient walls of Jayran which would once protect the Moorish inhabitants inside or the castle of Alcazaba which is the second largest in all of Andalusia.

Dalaman beach – The main beach is surprisingly unspoilt for such a large resort. Just ten minutes from the resort hub, this beach is perfect for relaxation and there are plenty of sun beds for hire at reasonable rates. Iztuzu beach – An acclaimed beach that has been heralded as one on the finest in the Med! This superb beach should be on your Dalaman holiday itinerary by default. It's just thirty minutes from Dalaman and is possibly the best on this list for swimming with its azzure blue, shallow waters and sand bar that separates two bodies of water. The beach also attracts endangered Loggerhead turtles, bringing in turtle spotters between the months of May and October.
