Holiday in Turkey

With the current strength of the Euro in comparison to the pound, it's time to forget Euro zone and look elsewhere for your Summer holiday. Turkey is a great replacement, offering a multitude of holidaying options whilst remaining relatively cheap. Here we give you a glimpse into what Turkey can offer you by describing three of the most popular areas.

Marmaris
Marmaris is a port located in the South-West of Turkey that has become a hub for tourists, sailing enthusiasts and divers alike. Famous for its nightlife, Marmaris offers some of the best bars on the Aegean coast. This makes the resort popular with younger travellers looking for a holiday of partying but this shouldn't put you off from visiting. There is plenty to do for couples and more seasoned holiday makers. Boat trips are readily available and you can even catch a ferry to the Greek island of Rhodes for exploration a little further afield. There are a multitude of boat trips that leave from the port, taking you around the beautiful small bays and beaches, giving you the chance to really soak up Marmaris and its surroundings. Marmaris is also a great place to pick up diving qualifications. There are numerous dive centres here that specialise in teaching beginners as well as giving experienced divers a taste of Turkey's aquatic life.

Bodrum
Bodrum is a popular destination for British holiday makers. Possibly the most beautiful resort on the South Aegean coast, this is a lively resort that offers a multitude things to do. If you like your holidays with a hint of culture, then you can visit some of Bodrum's ancient attractions such as Bodrum castle or its grand mausoleum. The beaches in and around Bodrum offer crystal clear waters and walks surrounded by palm trees. Expensive looking yachts crowd the marina in the scorching Summertime, many of those disembarking drop into the sea to explore the numerous reefs and coves off the shoreline. If diving isn't your thing, you can also visit one of the Bodrum's two water parks or try out horse-riding or river-rafting for something a little different.

Istanbul
If you're looking for a different approach to your holiday, visit Istanbul for a city break unlike any other! This city has thousands of years of heritage as it has been the capital of the Byzantine, Roman and Ottoman Empires at one point or another. This means that Istanbul is ripe for immersing yourself in true Turkish culture and history. There are many mosques and churches that you can explore, along with opulent palaces and Istanbul's famous Grand Bazaar where a bargain can be sought before you head back home.

Flights to Turkey are available at superb prices at the moment with many low-cost retailers and holiday brokers so there's no excuse not to go!
