Gocek – For something a little different, head to the affluent beach town of Gocek. Take a day out to explore the expensive boats and yachts in the exclusive marina and head to the unspoilt beaches for sunbathing and mingling with the well-off natives. You can also hop on-board one of the 12-island cruise tours for stop-offs around the nearby archipelago for even more beach exploration.

Dalaman beach – The main beach is surprisingly unspoilt for such a large resort. It's just thirty minutes from Dalaman and is possibly the best on this list for swimming with its azzure blue, shallow waters and sand bar that separates two bodies of water. The beach also attracts endangered Loggerhead turtles, bringing in turtle spotters between the months of May and October.
